The Lust of the Damned
Her ebon mane flows as the frigid wind caresses her pale skin
And the moon spills its light, catching her sorrowful eyes
Which bespeak the horrors of the lust of the damned.
I call to her but she does not hear
For the beauty that was once inside has died
And she no longer believes in anything
But apathy
I once held her and called her my own
But now she is far from me
And I am alone
As the tears bedew my cheeks
I raise calloused fists to the heavens
Not in blasphemy, but in surrender
For I hope that one day she will see
That the beauty inside may have died
But love can resurrect it
For love, true love, never dies.
