The Jerk

The Jerk

On this site I was labeled the jerk
And I'm not talking about Steve Martin
I thought by acting this way I would have gained a bunch of perks
But I lost my old attitude, you'll probably find it on the side of a milk carton
Gone and missing
Maybe I can finally get all of these poets to truely listen
Cockyness thrown out and played off
Maybe being the nice guy can finally pay off
The top of the conceited mountain is what I'm trying to stay off
A complete con artist
Poetry's own Bernie Madoff

Just thought that if I boast
Then maybe me and my family can later on toast
To the good life
Drinking champagne while laying in a mansion
All because of my poetic expansion
To steal the game from everyone and hold it for ransom

I just wanted to do the best that I could...

Maybe I should put the pen down for good

Tylee Martin

This is Tylee and I want to apologize for my egotistic behavior. Everyone on this site is extremely talented and I don't have the right to say that I'm better than anyone. No matter how good you are there is always someone better.A few of you seemed mighty upset because of my over confidence and I have learned from my mistakes. Im still going to write confident poems but Im am going to just watch how I do it.I guess I just wanted to be good like everyone on this site. more…
