The flamethrower and the silk aerialist
Up in the air like a circus of acts
tightroped colours, can never relax
flitting and frolic with competitive reason
as the weather changes with the turn of the season
the Flamethrower skilled
(and slightly conceited)
resting atop the world
in blue domains heated
spending all day bearing down onto skin
the people below can barely breathe in!
searching for solace in a shaded place
finding cool winds to run with, embrace!
baking awake, but they rely on his flames
to bring them light: to see! to grow within frames
still the Flamethrower shows off, breathing fire
as the flames grow, the heat spreading with desire
but alas comes a

twinkling inside ribboned skies
softly holding the Silk Aerialist
glowing in the lover's eyes
bringing sweet rest
along with sweet dreams
breaking down the Flamethrower
starting at the seams
but break he does and below he falls
and all is quiet surrounding dim walls
the Silk Aerialist twirls, spinning
across the night sky, grinning
showering stardust
sweeping windowed universe
staring silently throu
navy inked skies immerse
slowly does the Flamethrower seek revenge
but cannot untie the Silk Aerialist's velvet hinge
so both sway and lay for a minute in their sky
as I watch them converse
