The Essence of... Everything

The essence of perfume is its fragrance,

The essence of a rose plant, its buds;

The essence of the sky is its rain,

The essence of dirt is its mud.
The essence of a dragon is its fire,

The essence of a bird, its fluttering wings;

The essence of a tree, its leaves,

The essence of life is what good it brings.
