22. THE COOL SUMMER---DR.KGB

For me,
This summer was cool,
As our country stream;
For Lakshmi was there,
Like a breeze, everywhere.

Yesterday,
I couldn't sleep,
Not even a nap,
(So also her grandma),
For,
Lakshmi has gone,
Her school reopened,
-Leaving her grandpa alone.

How could I sleep?
What would I dream?
Who would sing?
-My good night song?
Rather the lullaby?
-For this obstinate tot?
O the summer is hot!
