Storms Restrain
I look across the large grassy fields
Just to see what my heart once yields
Then from afar, a white dove flying my way
My heart, she touched, in just that way
But then in time, clouds were growing
Darkness fell, a deep fog starts forming
Then rain began to drop from the sky
Felt as though the drops were knives
Piercing me deep, deep inside
I uncontrollably run and flee
Dashing inside, hoping my home saves me
There I sit and wait, forever it seems
Staring out at the source of my being
Peering out the window sill
as years go by, I grow weak and dreadfully ill
The storm has never stopped, nor has it slowed
I desire to go outside amongst you, but I dare not go
For if I do, it surely will be a tantalizing blow
So I remain in my place to this very day
Imagining those grassy fields and the dove that will arrive and stay.
