Hot summer night.
Parked at the park.
It's too hot in the car.
We are sweating.

Barefoot.
You are shirtless.
The sprinklers are like heaven.
We run through them together.

With me on your back.
You run like a child.
Full of life.
That's when it happened.

You held me in your arms.
We locked eyes.
The moonlight lit your face.
You had a peaceful smile.

"My heart is burning."
You wanted to say those three words.
I could feel it in your touch.
