Quench

The temperature soars
To a record high
Where under the shade
It's one twenty five

Thirst arrives quickly
And throats become dry
The weakest of creatures
Will give up and die

My lips are parched
While sand burns my feet
Shoulders are blistered
From the bearing down heat

Though I push along
I cannot get beat
Todays misery
Will make tonight sweet
