princess

her little fingers brush through my hair
"hair of a princess" she called it, although
i really don't feel like a princess.
her young eyes gaze up longingly
and with such respect
i cannot help but begin to feel a little change.
your calloused hands stroke the golden locks
"so beautiful" you whisper
although i sure don't feel beautiful at all
your blue eyes gaze down longingly and
with such contentedness
i cannot help but feel a little beautiful. and maybe i am a princess after all.
