Primavera

At times it is not enough
to spell out your tongue's path
on a napkin meant for cleansing
sopping today's promises
with yesterday's day-old bread

knock-kneed kisses saved
for the one never found
sought
At a glance it's all there
for the taking
left behind

Caramel-kiss sweepstakes
hoping one day
someone
cannot resist
