Permanent Solutions

Permanent Solutions

Crippled under the weight of ambivalent emotions.
I close my eyes to shades of blood that fade to black.
My mind races for resolution as I start to unravel.

You don’t want to see what’s beneath this skin.
I tear at my flesh to release my burden.
The burden of your disgrace.
I contort my face, and begin to retrace
the hypocrisy that brought me here to this place.

I can’t comprehend what you recommend.
Even the shapes under my eyelids are angry.

Perplexed propriety panics me.
I cling to my sobriety, the only thing of worth to me.
I can barley see through this animosity.
It frightens me to the point of insanity.

This ugly, growing inside me, is restless tonight.
It won’t give up, it won’t give in.
It’s barring its teeth anxious to fight.

I try to regain control, but no control is capable.
How far can I possibly go?

I reach for the solution that resides in the nightstand beside by bed.
I retrieve my axe and sever my head…

I found my resolution!

There are no more distractions.
There’s no more deception.
No defamation, equivocation or religion.

As I float through this illusion I derive a conclusion.
This is a permanent solution to temporary confusion.

Ohhhh, but it brings rest and seclusion.

I think I’ll float on.
