Orbit of My Heart

Omajean Lewis

Delivered from my Mother's womb,
Placed into her strong arms,
For sweet and loving care,
From my birth until her tomb.

Touched by my special Angel,
Mother with toil worn hands,
Held against her soft breast,
Speaking with quite demands.

Flavored kisses from her lips,
Tasty as the sweetest wine,
Her breath delightfully warm,
Mother of mine so devine.

I grieve death, sweet proctector,
Through days and heavenly stars,
Yet I know you abide near me,
Within the orbit of my heart's desires.

Omajean Lewis

Born in Oklahoma during the Dust Bowl days, growing up during the early days of the Texas Oil Fields observing WW11 as a child, graduating from high school and marrying in the early fifties, raising two children, Tonya and Brenton through the sixties and seventies and taking care of her parents and parent-in-law through the nineteen nineties has given Oma Lewis a unique perceptive on life. When not busy traveling and enjoying her family with her husband Dalton of 59 years, Oma is active as an artist, photographer, and writer. more…
