My Friend

Well dear Jesus here we are
Walking real close together once again
It seems once more I’m reaching out
A favor to ask of you, my friend
It may be selfish what I want to do
But deep down it isn’t you’ll see
I just ask to stay a while
To do more work for thee
It matters not if I’m in pain
Nor if I seem a little stressed
I just want to go to thy house
And do more work for the dead
Please give me the strength
And determination that I need
The will to go and carry on
And serve others for thee
