I'll Go Tomorrow
Telephone rings, it's my mom. We chat about the
small things and the events of our day. I ask her
how my grandma is, she says she's getting better.
You really need to go see her.
"I'll go tomorrow" I tell her.
Weeks, months, fly by, grandma get sick, but
recovers. Still mom keeps saying you need to
go see her.
"I'll go tomorrow" I say.
Years go by, life gets hectic, but I manage to see
her on the special occasions. I don't get to her
house much more than that.
Mom calls early one morning to tell me
grandma died during the night, I feel so
guilty. I should have visited more.
Never say "I'll go tomorrow",
when tomorrow comes, it will be today,
and it may be too late.
