Hurt doesn't easily go away

The mighty changing waves of life, so known to me, I could only close my eyes to smell it, was breaking over my tired body.

It swept my dreams away and in the silence to the afterbirth, i heard the froth whisper in awe about survival that would soon follow.

Tidal waves and streams of chance came together, united, holding hands as friends of time and sat in patience by my feet.

A heavy rain was shaping my loss, layers of hard, soft clay was falling to the floor, without a word, without regret.

I set sail into the rough and black waters of opportunity - alone and naked, tormented and broken by the weight of my burden. One I did not ask for, one I did not deserve.

With guilt and anger as my only companion, my voyage was endless. Days and Nights crashed into dusk and dawn, without the clock shedding a second, not once.

I screamed your name, yet no sound echoed my agony, no one came to help me. Alone, I had to conquer them - that day they took my life away.
