God's Promise

I wonder why God told me
that hers, is mine and his
he gave me a promise and I just cant help
but wonder why this is

The time is not now he says
so I try to look away
but as years go by I feel he's growing
further each and every day

If he's happy I should be for him
but I just don't believe that's so
his lie becomes my life
and my heart just wont let go

So what am I to do
when waiting causes sorrow
another is a waist of time
and so is dreaming of tomorrow

Much has been required
and the day will come I know
his promises always come to pass
so I look to God and grow
