Fall By Recall

The turtle is slow moving but focused on its course.
The hare is a speed demon but drifts without remorse.
Racing's foregone conclusion would leave no room for doubt:
the hare should win with honors and shut the turtle out.
The outcome of the contest expectation defies:
the hare lost by distraction gives the turtle the prize.

David and Goliath have an unfair war plan.
The giant's might and power would crush the average man.
Battle's foregone conclusion would leave no room for doubt:
Goliath should be winner and shut David out.
The outcome of the contest expectation defies:
Goliath's fall by slingshot gives David the prize.

Political leaderships are in constant review.
Ordinary citizens observe when they're askew.
Ballot's foregone conclusion would leave no room for doubt:
officials lodged in power should shut the public out.
The outcome of the contest expectation defies:
leaders ousted by recall give citizens the prize.
