Driving Home

To the house, a walk together,
At the end, a hug; (forever?)
Ends, to hope this moment never-
Close the door, a sigh, contented.
A walk, a thought, emotions hinted.
Memories, events transpired:
Eventful day; now ending tired.
Morning’s presence thus inquired?
Time thereafter so desired!
(Spent with one another)
Gazes parted,
Engine started,
Driveway then to back out: thwarted?
Thoughts to count with every mile!
(To think about her all the while!)
Driving home, a constant smile.
