del fuego

and the curtains fucking rustle
autumn had taken the trees in the yard
something was fucking lost now
winter crept nearer
curled around our families ugly toes
insulated like wolves
hungered like the shit
it kept coming layers and layers
collecting in the valleys of our pussies
drifting between us until we stood separate and naked
we will find our own bones here
in the forest
in defrosted circles of snow
in maple sap
amber bones like morbid jewels
my teeth I sink into his ass
my skull as my helm
my ribs--my armor
shoulder blades like glass wings curved for war
. . . my family will build fucking ghetto fires . . .
