Cotton Candy

Cotton candy in the sky,
I sit and watch you floating by.
First a dragon now a horse,
Now a race car on its course.
You turn into a butterfly,
Cotton candy in the sky.
I sit and think of way back when,
You sat down close to me, back then.
You'd point out all the shapes you saw,
When I could only see a flaw.
A little girl who'd ask you why,
Cotton candy in the sky.
Now my child I sit beside,
And gaze into the sky so wide.
She sees much more than I once had,
I hear her laugh, my heart feels glad.
We'll sit here as the years go by,
Cotton candy in the sky.
