Changeble weather

Wind it whistles and sings winter's song,
Tosses the plants night and day long,
Trees they resist and then spring back,
Clouds scud quickly the grey and black.

Rainbows they appear to herald the rain,
Torrential at times splattering the window pane,
Then the sun peeps through a cloud,
Stark many branches standing there proud.

Cold and biting that southerly wind,
Gone almost completely leaves that're thinned,
Blown into heaps and blocking the drains,
Only when sheltered the odd one remains.

Its better inside to avoid these squalls,
Sharp and biting the rain that falls,
Now and then a hail storm or two,
Also down south there's snow to view.

No washing today it will not dry,
Better to rest and let it lie,
Another day perhaps simply wait and see,

Tomorrow may improve so let things be.

I find it is a good way to record events of the day and bring history to life. The mental aspect is a balance against keeping fit, work and life in general. more…
