A Mother's Mistake

Why don't you love me the foetus cries
As it's mother signs on the dotted line
A child who's life has only begun
Cut short by a signature; a symbolic gun

Suspended in her womb, oblivious to it's fate
As surgical steel probes and scrapes
A glint in the blackness as the surgeon strikes home
Silent screams; the ripping of flesh and bone

An unborn child torn to shreds
A drop of lifeless blood seeps onto her bed
Little unloved souls forgotten in the surgeon's bin
Tiny broken bodies, spilling over the brim
