A loving mother at christmas!!

I was only 6 at the time but I remember it well.
One of the most precious stories my heart will tell.
She had 11 children but most of them were grown.
She had 5 more to raise to share her Christmas home.

2 girls and 3 boys, she would take us shopping every year.
Girls were first to go, then us boys had our turn.
Dad would drop us off at the department store at Sears.
Excited I would be to see the toys and the lessons I would learn.

My first cap gun set with two holsters I would play the long ranger.
Mom would always check on me to protect me from any danger.
She saw me smile, she saw me sad, but she always gave me love.
I know she listening from the heavens smiling from above.

She gave us each her love, she nourished us all from birth.
When we were sad so was she, understanding the hurt.
A loving mother at Christmas cooking the best of her foods.
Dealing with all these children, knowing their every move.

I miss you Mom, Christmas has come again.
Never will I forget your love, you were my best friend!
