24-hour Day

The 24-hr day
Is when no mere barbecue can cause
The rain 2 shine
Or the
Sun 2 pour.
It sizzles still though the last
Barrel go-round
In the Astrodome was years ago.
It burns bright,
Shining its flame off the
Beer can stuck up the chicken's butt.
 Go-Texan then go Bricks
Then go Galveston with the Captain Stanley
And eat Laurel & Hardy sandwiches in the galley
And p*ss a blue streak in the head after 20 more
$5 beers paid 4 cause your own are gone
And your only friend wanting 2 puke
With the sea as it rolls and rocks &
See there, that Lesbian pilot 4 fEDeX
Carries the day again with her
20 pound Spanish Mackerel
And her condo on TikiIsland
I wish she were me and then we could write
Poetry of the
"Got life by the balls"
and mean it by God and mean it my
Lord of the disjointed program 4
The structurally disadvantaged
Which is what we could all be,
But 4 a simple handshake B4
The place closes and the sun comes up again.
