The Dark Times

The dark times crept up on us like a shadow,

Giving no warnings and no signs until it was too late.

No one expected this and no one was prepared for this,

Until death and sorrow made its way.

Now we are stuck inside behind closed doors.

And have restrictions for when we leave our homes.

No one is safe when going outside and can fall ill at any time,

And everyone is filled with pain and agony.

Now everyone awaits the day when this will all end,

The day when we can see our family members without restrictions,

The day when we can restart our social life,

And the day when these dark times will end and we will be free,

Free from this virus and out of quarantine.
