Gone

Farrah Kyle 1984 (KY)

Today, I longed to hear your voice
and searched my thoughts to remember by choice.
Today I wanted to see your eyes so blue
that reminded me of our friendship so true.
Today I wanted to see your smile
and be able to sit and chat for awhile.
The warm sunshine takes me back
when life seemed so simple and without attack.
Each raindrop seems to bring tears
and overwhelms me with so many fears.
Everyday brings a reminder that you are gone
and leaves me with thoughts of being alone.
I needed you to stay with me on this side of the door
but Heaven needed you a little bit more.
In my heart you will always be
and your spirit will live on with me.
