To the Old Stems

Navya Karey 1998 (India)

O' deep red flowers amid of greens and browns
Speaking gently to the wings that reach thee
Calling my name from the height
To show thy beauty, thy freshness

But, mine heart blinded to see thy beauty,
And glanced at these weak browns;
Hugging each other to live more
Weak and pale like mine broken core.

O' what beauty lay in these browns,
Thy scrapped pile seems like a beautiful brown gown.
Thy union formed a message to my world
Is that letter a hidden gold?

Thy browns speaketh to my core
Caress of your falling leaves bussed my cheek
How mine soul hearkened thy brokenness
From this single buss?

Thy beauty looked through my soul,
Thy brokenness reached my heart,
Thy life resembled my life,
Our beauty lurked in our hearts.
