Trivial

Wilma Jane Acenas 1996 (Balulang, Cagayan de oro city)

I
Creative Imaginations,
talents not honed,
mouth with numerous words,
ideas countless,
poetic and empath.
All this is not enough.

II
I had it all
but turned into trivial, unworthy.
People's eyes, the pressure, the time
are like chains locked up in my wrist.
Desperate yet eager to break.

III
Grab and lead me
on the peak, on the light,
on the top of the hill.
See my reign.

IV
It is not easy.
Easy, it will never be.
There is a lamp.
Here dwell doubt and mockery.
Yet love never left me.
Given hope and trust.
Still, no one else,
only I could lit the lamp.
