I'm the Dream Catcher

I'm hanging in a peaceful place.
I watch the people smile,
And laugh and cry and yell and face
Their problems all the while.

At the end of day and lights go out,
Is when I work my magic!
I know all of their faiths and doubts,
Where they're successful or a tragic.

They're all asleep and dreams are in sight!
I must prepare my frame.
Bad dreams I catch, good dreams take flight.
It's almost like a game.

Sadly, bad dreams slip through.
I cannot hold them all.
I hope these people learned and grew
From dreams of wake-up calls.

Next thing I know, it's suddenly still.
No noise from the dreams.
Dreamers soon to wake; I know they will!
In awe, or some in screams.

My work is done for another eve,
May their deserved dreams come true!
I only work for those who believe
In the pictures that I drew.

As I'm hanging in a peaceful place,
I watch the people move.
And laugh and cry and yell and base
Their day on last night's groove.
