African Eyes

We're standing as equal today's white man,
with hungry eyes, computer at hand,
but as I remember the days we had,
when you were keeping the whip in your hand,
the days our people was still your slave,
when you drove them straight to the grave,
I'm filled with anger, I'm filled with pain,
for all their struggle has gone in vain.

I'll show you some day, some day in time,
maybe not me but someone of mine,
that their struggle was not in vain,
someday our tribe will win the game.

We're standing as equal today's white man,
with hungry eyes, computer at hand,
I see how you suffer, I see how you fear,
I can see your eyes are growing a tear,
I know you remember the days we had,
when you were keeping the whip in your hand,
I know you're sensing my day is near,
maybe tomorrow or maybe next year.
