Serotonin

my brain a slaughterhouse
where thoughts are butchered
daily.
serotonin the executioner,
swinging its axe
through the meat of my mind.

a fragile ecosystem,
where neurons are the prey,
and depression the predator,
lurking in every shadow
waiting to pounce.

in the dark of my skull
a war rages on,
serotonin the general,
issuing orders to fire
at the enemy within.

my body a battleground,
where hormones are the troops
and anxiety the commander,
shouting orders to advance
into the fray.

in this war of the mind
i am both soldier and civilian,
caught in the crossfire
of neurotransmitters
and the chaos they bring.

serotonin the dictator,
ruling with an iron fist,
crushing dissent
with its chemical grip.

my thoughts a jumble
of twisted desires
and violent impulses,
straining to break free.

in this prison of flesh,
i am both captive and guard,
tormented by the keys
that serotonin holds.
