PLEASE RECALL MY NAME TOO

PLEASE RECALL MY NAME TOO

I want to ask you today
As you're running on your way
Stop  for a minute, let's pause
Remember all who fell for the cause
Stand and recall each name
The lives that'll never be the same

See the look in the vets eye
See the tears he dares not cry
For the friends he left behind
The peace you know he didn't find
Stop and wish him joy, wish him well
Because, man, he went through hell

I remember you, my fallen friend
I remember how your battles end
I've tried so hard to be worthy to live
The life that you choose to give
All these year my memory's taken root
At a grave side, Folded flag salute

So as you run today, brother look my way
Here in the ground where I forever lay
Think as the tiny flag silent wave
It was my life that I couldn't save
Pray for the fallen, and as you do
Please…please recall my name too

And the flag flaps in the breeze
Children laugh and play in trees
Remember the price, we paid
Then go live your life safe, unafraid
But thank the soldiers guard today
And God who blessed the USA
