Park N Ride

Put to the test, paired against more successful men, I would need to cheat to compete at best.

In the "war of the roses," my heart was never a contender, tossed in my face, stamped "Return To Sender.”

11:30am bright and sunny who could ask for a more beautiful day. Take the 197 big city bound, Central Park trip to walk in the midst of the loved ones, Greenwich Village, Alphabet Town.

Neck in a twist, pain in my wrist, he gives up on notions of romantical trysts. What a story with a fateful twist.

My love was found in a standing room only crowd, come and sit down, I’ll tell you how I was placed here especially for you.

I Feel pity for the pretty girl with so much to do. Well, I'm here to worship and to love you.

My satisfaction isn’t condition to your reaction, for now lets just Park–N–Ride.

Let me chase the stars in your eyes, pretend you’ll always be mine. I'll write you a poem, right here, right now, while you're a prisoner at my side.

You don’t know what to make of all this I know, Cupid’s in theater, putting on one of his little hide and seek shows.

Smile in my direction and watch how it makes me glow. I just wanna settle down, not only compromise for anyone around. Take my hand, just one innocent night on the town. Who knows if hearts will collide, let’s just Park–N–Ride.

Take a back seat, doesn’t matter who drives, your laugh makes me high, I can’t afford a DWI.

Who knows what will be when tomorrow arrives..

Numi

"Numi" is the pen-name I adopted in 2007 after a friend gifted me a copy of The Essential Rumi; by Coleman Barks. After reading some of my works, it was suggested that it reminded them of the works by Rumi. In no way do I align myself with this Great Master Poet, but I do feel a deep connection to his poetry, and the book of Essentials was my constant companion during a 5 year saga, where I was stranded in the Amazon Jungle of Peru, from 2010-2015. Everything in my collections were written during a 4 year period, 1999-2003. more…
