The mirror

Always used but I am hardly loved by my owners
They stare into all of my eyes, every shard of me stares back with envy
I don’t know why they insist on being here if they hate looking at me
Unless its not me they hate

I figured as much since they stare with tears in their eyes
I feel as if harnessing their darkest fears-
Keeping them from their deepest desires.

Im smashed into shards of pain
Still staring with 1000 eyes, I think they call it the thousand yard stare
Watching my owner breathe heavy with guilt
Their painful satisfaction ties a noose around it and replaces it
As they feel like a winner beating their opponent-
Beating me

As if my owner isnt finished with me
Still needing the final blow-
Im picked up and even with my final defenses shedding red tears from their hand-
They throw me against the wall-
Shattering me to the point of blindness
Though I cannot see with my eyes-
I can feel their cries
Knowing I always win-
Beating them
