~aprostituteandhervirgin

I divorced my husband while still covered
Under His blood
I gave my newly adorned body
To gentiles and slave men
Right after our engagement
My adulterous lust ran after the Babylonians
I demolished this sacred temple
With disgraceful wandering
I gave my holy’s of holy’s with no payment
To uncircumcised pagans
I broke Our promise
I tore up my wedding garments
I ran the other way on that isle
For I was scared of commitment
Burdened by the shame of regret
Torn by the childhood of neglect
I curl up my devotion
And praise you in Gerizim
For I want back my innocence
My purity is at the bottom of this well
Well
With my hair shaved and body naked
I tread back to the feet of the Groom
Begging for His forgiveness

About this poem

Fear of Love and therefore the result is fear of commitment. Commuting to a choice, a decision of unconditional devotion to God and God’s images. It also about the ownership of wrongdoing, of committing to unfaithfulness, seeing a women take accountability for her wrongs is a culture I want to live in.
