Mirror

They say a mirror never lie
But I believe they do,
Cause if this is what truth looks like,
I don't want to see what's true.

I know I can't be this ugly ,
No I can't be that bad.
What do you mean this face is mine?
And these scars; I didn't know I had.

Why does nothing look good on me
Either it's too tight or loose,
Why will anyone ever see me
When there's so many prettier girls to choose.

Why does my smile look so weird?
Why do I laugh like that?
Why does my gestures look all awkward?
And why the hell do I walk like that?

I don't like when I speak and I hate it more when I'm mute.
I don't want to be left out but if I am not , I'll be more confused.
Cause how can anyone ever want to be friends with someone so ugly ?
With someone so disgusting cuz I can't even say hi without stuttering.

So mirror mirror on the wall
Are you really showing the truth?
Mirror mirror on the wall,
Can't you just lie and show me something beautiful?

About this poem

This is my first ever poem that I wrote on my raw feelings . Going through the teenage phase , I came across so many insecurities which I am still to accept . This poem helped me to vent out all my feelings . I feel many people might relate to this poem . I recently started writing so I am not the best but I love writing and will continue to do so until I am at my best.
