Tranquil Waters

In tranquil lake, serene and still,
Unruffled by anger's chill.
Storms may rage with furious might,
Yet each time they take flight,
I recall with somber thought,
Half a century soon is wrought.
But no, it's not just anger's sway,
It's a tempest, come what may.
Sweeping debris of days long past,
From the path that shadows cast.
