Eleutheromania

Kimberly Zikora 2006 (Kaduna)

ELEUTHEROMANIA
You didn't want it before
You feared it, ran from it
Things happened, priorities changed
Now all you can think about
Is how fast you can get away
It builds and builds
Till you cannot bear it anymore
The space surrounding you is confining
Your home and its occupants making you claustrophobic
The need to be free is mounting
You feel the wrongness of it all
That the truth is just another lie
Everyone says soon
Be patient, be calm
But when the waiting nears the end
When freedom is so close
Time wages its war
Delaying, playing and toying with you
You become afraid
That you'll never feel it
The independence, the liberty
Only you and yourself against the mighty world
But amidst your darkness, you see a light
You embrace the unknown, breaking through the strife
Your journey of a lifetime will soon begin
At last, the emancipation you seek is at your door
You go through and don't look back
