On a hurt person's back.

I wanted it, I wanted you but you didn't need it, I needed you
To see it, clear as day, but I don't even believe it myself
I thought that if I gave a week away, you'd want a lifetime of us to stay, but I digress, it was just a wasted fantasy
Cover me, with the veil of it, under me I'm ashamed of it
Colouring out the blank spots, walking around like it doesn't hurt me at all
It doesn't hurt you at all, riding on a hurt person's back

I just wanna sleep and just let it be
I just wanna sleep for eternity
In the stream splash Burgundy
Elevated my hopes for all to see

It's always a meter away, always a Light-year away
Never a whiff of it, more like the feel of it
I didn't know what to say, you ignored it, cut off your hair
Wallowing in our despair, allowing it to take us there
We're calm and scared at the same time, do we care if we left from here, to nowhere at all?

I just wanna sleep and just let it be
I just wanna sleep for eternity
In the stream splash Burgundy
Elevated my hopes for all to see

It keeps on piling on a hurt person's back, I'm spiralling, you're growing up
I'm forever 18, you're 21
