 B u d d i n g Blooming

100 in the train private and aloof
Nothing better than a quiet commute
1000s of consumers come and go
It’s nicer when they leave me alone
Nice and quiet that is my ideal
in the canteen with my solo meal
When work’s finally done I leave,
Head home for my social reprieve

There’s a temp for this month at reception
One of those annoying centers of attention
Smiling and laughing with every stranger
Won't be long till she bothers me I’d wager
Stopping me, making idle conversation
Interrupting my work without hesitation
Every day she imposes at MY table
Chatting over my coffee and bagel

100 in the train heads fixed on their phone
I’m surrounded and alone
1000s pay quickly and are gone
Leaving me alone
3 empty chairs at my table, too cosy
Am I lonely?
Hmm, perhaps I wonder
would HR have her number?
