I was told today
That it was over between us
That whatever you did
God stepped in and stood in your way
To protect me
She said to never look back
That we are strangers now
Ghost ships on different courses
Because you wanted to see me suffer
And yet,
I don’t believe
It’s you that is the villain
It’s the shadows that torment you
They chose you
At birth
Because you are chosen
They chose you
Because you are anointed
Loved
Lovable
Divinely appointed
They use your pain to fuel their emptiness
And their agenda
And force you to do the same
But I saw you
The you that was protected
Deep within your walls and armor
The soft, the compassionate
The hurting, suffering, tired
The giving, resilient, powerful, angry
The healed, the whole, the beautiful
You
I hope that one day
The quietness inside of you
Grows
Destroying the grip of the constrictor that strangles
When you are alone in the dark
I love you
And I hope that one day
You return back to the home
That you’ve forgotten
To peace
To joy
To hope
To your soul
To your true power
To love
You can be set free
And I won’t forget you
About this poem
I spoke to a tarot reader today, and she told me that someone I loved did something that caused God to decide we’ll never be together again. I just hope he knows that I truly saw the good in him. That I was never lying about how I felt, and that I know he really is an amazing person with a call on his life. I hope he will always know that. And I hope it keeps a flicker of a promise of healing alive in his heart. I hope he never gives up. And I hope he knows that no matter what he’s done, he is still loved and he can still be unshackled from his pain and his past. No matter what he’s done. more »
