The poet's journey

Poetry is the lifeblood that flows from between lips or from the tip of an instrument
The passion of the mind made real unto air or paper through the ebb and flow of the body
Set free by surrendering some autonomy in exchange for a glimpse into the subconscious
That vast sea of untapped potential, words not said, thoughts silenced
Where things that cannot be real are real
Realer that what really is
And after
After a dip in the pool of vast imagination formed by experience and baked by the heat of passion
And after our burning creation cracks and simmers, stable only in this odd place
It is quenched by its journey to the other world
The one that's real
Here we see its cracks widen and imperfections show
Yet its imperfections make an art of its own
And this is what it's all about
To make the perfect, real and imperfect
Then to see the perfection in this imperfect creation
Breathing life into something that was once simply
An idea
Not necessarily made worse or better
Just
Real

About this poem

Sometimes I feel reality confines and corrupts, it's doesn't always have room to fit my ideas in the way I want them. But better an imperfect poem than one that was never made.
