Love's Eternal Question

In love's embrace, do we find truth or guise?
A chemical dance or a cosmic spark?
Does passion's flame in mortal hearts arise,
Or mere illusion in the endless dark?

Does love's sweet melody, so tender, true,
Reside in neurons firing in our brain?
Or does it spring from depths we can't construe,
A force beyond what science can explain?

Yet in the whispers of the soul's refrain,
In tender touch and in the lover's gaze,
There lies a mystery we can't restrain,
A truth that defies reason's measured maze.

So let us ponder, in this endless quest,
If love's pure essence dwells in hearts at rest.
