Sipping Coffee

Oh to see that smiling face
Gazing at me with ornery amusement
What are you thinking
As your glow exudes playful mirth
Was it something I said to make you
Reward me with such a beautiful view
To know that the words from this mouth
Could tickle those ears and inspire joy
And with me knowing that you are the
 Inspiration for such stimulating words
Thus the cycle has been completed
Oh to hear that beautiful laughter
Vibrating through my soul like a choir
Of angels offering me redemption
So easy to listen to that I could
Lose track of time listening to it
Like it's my favorite soundtrack
Of my newest favorite movie, you
And oh how I rue time for it’s
Perfunctory ability to speed up
When I'm sitting across from you
Daydreaming about how your lips
Would feel as they gently caressed mine
All of this rushes through my mind
As I finish my third sip of coffee.
