The Wrong Horizon

I thought this was the way to go
Until I found it was not so
When fate preferred its way.

It took a while before I knew
That life which slowly came in view
Would choke my dreams some day!

Next time I'll choose a path that feels
More than one with some grand ideals
And that will take a while,

But that will be just fine for me
When I think of how life will be;
A way that fits my style!
