Compromise

Steve Cochrane 1955 (Cape)

No one should always get their way;
It isn't fair to those
Who have some hope and plans each day,
Which is the way life goes.

Life always needs some give and take
Where all may have a turn
To push ahead and not forsake
The lessons all must learn.

So, learn the "art of compromise",
A skill that's fair to all,
If we show that we can be wise
In ways that might seem small.
