They Will Never Realize.

All huddled together, trying to keep warm. Whispers dance in the wind,
 All around our usual spot.
But cut off abruptly as I walk around the corner. Fake smiles, plastered on their faces as I sit with them.
No one knows who they really are.
Sweet, kind, smart
 But underneath their fake smiles
 Rude, not forgiving, judgmental

Tears, run like a waterfall down my cheeks until there are none left.
When will they realize?

Years later with a new group of friends.
Outside, sitting on the cold concrete steps. Whispers run in the icy wind.
But it disappears as I walk over,
Fake smiles, plastered on their faces as I sit with them.
It took me a while to realize,
But they don't know yet.

Tears, run like a waterfall down my cheeks until my eyes are as dry as a desert.
Yet I still need to walk home with them. Pretending everything is ok.
They will never realize....
