Cultivating the Wind

Steve Cochrane 1955 (Cape)

I have to write some words tonight,
Unsure of what to say.
Yet still I feel I can't conceal
The feelings of this day.

My thoughts will spin and jump again
Into a frenzied state
Of what might be some clarity
And so, I must not wait

To find each word my mind has "heard"
Attempting to take form,
As poetry that lives in me
Begins to ride the storm.

Sometimes the rain will fall in vain
Unless productive wind
Will spread each seed to where I need
To grow my thoughts again.
