DISBELIEVE

SIPOKAZI MATUTU 1996 (PORT ELIZABETH)

Ode

It's bizarre.
Do you know what's odd?
It's when I call your name and don't get a response.
Every night, I see you reach out to me, but when I wake up, you're gone.
I can feel you around me, I can sense your love, yet you're not there.
You have left a hole in my heart and made me unhappy.
I'm furious at you, and if I were thunder, I'd strike.
If I were a raindrop, I would cause a flood.
I would drown people if I were an ocean.
If I were a forest, I would shed my leaves rather than absorb water; Death would knock on my door, and I would follow.
You should have informed Death of your intentions.
