Do you know what I do
When you sleep, my boy?

Mine the hours’ opiate
The slinking moon,

On the couch, supine
And clutching silent coin

Pilfered by your
Early-rising feet.

Shy the gift of tears,
A dullard sighing…  

When you go to sleep
My boy, I dream.
